James Beckman is one of the fastest backstrokers to come out of high school. He has slowly become one of the most successful Backstrokers since Aaron Whitaker.
Earlier back in February Beckman became the state champion in the 100 yard Backstroker just out touching favorite to win it Joe Young.
Beckman then went on to the Senior state meet that was held at Notre Dame where he topped the competition there as well.
At that point it had become clear that the Munster star and the soon to be IU freshman was the best yards but bigger challenges awaited him.
Beckman took 2nd in the 200 backstroke earlier this weekend during the LCM senior state championship meet. Beckman then bounced back with a thrilling win in the 100m last night.
Beckman will head off to IU this fall with a huge spotlight shining on him.
